When I first met Lara and Mick it was at a lunch with Lara’s family. The table was spread with cheese platters, home made quiches, fruits, antipasto delights and surrounded by a table of creative, warm and truly lovely people. From this moment I knew that I would love Lara and Mick’s wedding which would be set in the very same house where we sat. It was to be a garden wedding that as I asked Lara to try and describe as a cultural fusion with a bit of an eclectic  element. It was truly breathtaking to step into this garden that had gone from a place where kids would play and the family would gather to a whimsical setting with a vintage/Indian twist where a new memory would be created. The memory of these two amazing people getting hitched!

One of my favourite things about this wedding was that it reflected this couple so much, it was fun, relaxed, a visual feast and very personal. So personal that everyone got involved from transforming of vintage veils, to friends doing make up and baking wedding cakes (that was delicious) to little decorated nooks around the garden for people to enjoy and the personalised bar that the groom made. It was no different when the celebrations were in full swing, everyone was having the best time and the dance floor went from swing to soul to today’s play list but never stopped moving!

It was such a fun wedding and such a fun smile booth to so check out those pics here…. or on facebook.

Hope you enjoy this gorgeous wedding.

My oh my do I love today’s wedding blog but I loved the actual day even more! Partly because if you want a glimpse into what I think would be the most picture perfect wedding that suits me down to a tea this one is it… Its Like Katherine read my mind and produced this amazing day. It was also party because this couple (and their friends) love to have fun so out photo session was an absolute delight, old gates, railway stations, fields and and attitude of anything fun goes! And because Stangate house in Aldgate is just divine. Oh and did i mention that almost everything including the bouquets were done by the bride and maid of honour?

What made this wedding so special was the beautifully felt love these two have for each other. Katherine and Lorien truly adore one another and in these photos they can’t help but show it, especially our gorgeous bride who was toted as being a whirlwind of emotion {all good emotions of course}. She was beaming and my camera adored her as you will see by the overload of photos.

Loved your wedding and hope you enjoy the photos,

    Carly

Sam and Tanya’s wedding was a day that I truly enjoyed. I mean how I could not… It had everything, from hydrangeas {one of my favourite flowers} bubbly bridesmaids, gorgeous dresses, wedding vows said as a covenant to one another and their beloved God, tree swings, the funniest speech that could have only been delivered and gotten away with by a sister come bridesmaid, a couple that is so much fun, a bridal party who knows how to work it in front of a camera and a bride that just lights up with joy, laughter and love.

The greatest gift of being a photographer is you get to document special moments in people’s lives it’s what I love doing. At Sam and Tanya’s wedding it went beyond documenting it to hearing about it and sharing in it. What I heard throughout the day was a story of how two people know the challenges, triumphs and obstacles of life, partly because they themselves have lived it but also because they have share the load of others and walked beside them through their lives. What I heard, what I witnessed was that these two take on anything that comes their way and do it with joy, love and a smile on their face. The greatest thing I enjoyed on their wedding day was just this to see two giving and lovely people come together as one. Know that through their lives they will be a blessing to this world and most of all to each other.

Thanks for sharing your day with me,

    Carly xoxo

Let me tell you about a little love story that started a few years ago in a quaint pub called the fox and firkin. It’s one of those stories where two people notice each other and an interest is kindled but it takes a pint sized friend/photographer to politely interfere and make room for love to bloom… (Yes I am taking some credit for the initial courtship of this relationship). While sitting in this pub the very gorgeous Sarah fessed up that a certain someone had caught her eye it was the tall and ruggedly handsome Brandon. I could see that these two would be great for each other and told her to go for one problem… Brandon was noticeably absent so of course I happened to text him to get him to come things didn’t work out on this particular occasion so a group movie date and another night of takeout was in order. It only took two ‘group hanging out times’ before myself and my other co-conspirators were ditched so these two could get to know each other a little better. From there love bloomed through a mutual love of basketball, their competitive spirits, a shared faith and their generous and loving hearts.

It was about a year later that I thought a proposal might be in the works and happened to slip in that if they wanted me to save a date my lips would be sealed and the date was theirs! I didn’t have to wait long though because within a few weeks these two were engaged and they popped the question, “Carly will you be our photographer?” to which I gushed and said YES!

So it brings us to this day. The day two of my favourite people said I Do. The day that you could feel how loved these two are by everyone in their lives. The day I saw more time spent in front of a mirror by two certain groomsmen than by all the bridesmaids combined. The day that cheerleading reached new heights of awesomeness and I saw the best bridal party entry ever! Most of all it was the day this power couple stood at an altar before God made vows to one another and became husband and wife! It was a privilege to spend this day with my friends and a joy to share it with you.

    Enjoy xoxo

You can always tell when a wedding is going to be fun… When first meeting with Henrik and Amy and hearing their reception was at the Adelaide Zoo, Henrik suggested photos with the Hippo… I knew from then I was going to have a ball at this wedding and that I did. From Viking games where the groom has to prove himself as a man to rescue his bride (did I mention that Henrik is Finish and there were real Vikings at this wedding!!!) people tearing up the dance floor and a tango from the bride and groom that was divine.

I could see from the moment we met that this couple had such a genuine and heartfelt for each other and what I saw on the day was how this wasn’t just reciprocated by the two of them but also by their friends and family. It was such a warm and welcoming wedding that beautifully intertwined Henrik and Amy’s cultures, interests and pasts as they started their future together.

    Enjoy xoxo
